Anika got into Purdue on a record that runs from a supercomputer lab to a student newspaper: cancer research at the San Diego Supercomputer Center through UCSD's Mentor Assistance Program, exploring PARP inhibitors and drug repurposing with AI/ML models, then a second UCSD research internship in computational biology. Alongside that came $10,000 raised for the G6PD Deficiency Foundation through Lead4Change, a founded club on sleep apnea awareness, a chapter of Doctors Without Borders, and a science column in the school paper. Now double-majoring in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Purdue. In their own words: two years ago I was exactly where these students are — excited about college but overwhelmed by the number of decisions that came with it. I know how hard it is to work out which schools, majors and opportunities are right for you while also trying to make an application stand out. Having been through it and learned from the mistakes as much as the wins, I want to be the person a student can turn to for honest advice and practical guidance.
