Electrical Engineering · Cal Poly SLO · Class of 2030
Jared earned his place in Cal Poly SLO's Electrical Engineering program on the strength of real work: an independent piezoelectric energy-harvesting study he designed, ran, and published; USACO Silver and AP Scholar with Distinction; and a soccer-gear drive he founded that put $10,000 of equipment into the hands of 200+ families. He has spent two years tutoring college students in math, physics, and chemistry at Palomar's STEM Center and teaching robotics to K-12 students at Sylvan — he knows how to make a hard thing make sense. He also knows how much of this process nobody bothers to explain, and he refuses to hand a student the two-second hallway answer. He sits down and gives them the full picture.
